Join Tennis Memphis this holiday season and give the gift of tennis! Your donation directly impacts the lives of children in the communities of Whitehaven, Raleigh, Frayser, Hickory Hill, and South Memphis by providing access to free and low-cost NJTL tennis and education programs. These programs help to provide not only a pathway for the sport of tennis, but a pathway for life! Our programs utilize the emphasize character development and life skills through 3 curriculums. Our core tennis education curriculum, GreatBase Tennis is a "system of systems" that emphasizes peer teaching, character development, and requires that players "be brilliant with the basics" of tennis fundamentals. This program also serves as a complete Player Development Pathway that can take a motivated player from beginner to a Division I college player who has earned a scholarship to fund their education.

At Tennis Memphis, our mission is to "build a better community and enhance lives through tennis and education." We believe tennis is not only a sport which provides a lifetime of benefits and enjoyment, but a vehicle that will take kids to places which were previously out of reach. Your one-time or recurring gift opens the door for children in under-served Memphis communities to experience the life-changing impact the "gift of tennis" can bring. Mission

Tennis Memphis is a USTA Community Tennis Association organization, a 4-Star NJTL Chapter and a non profit 501(c)(3) governed by a Board of Directors.  Our mission is “to build a better community and enhance lives through tennis and education.” We intend to increase the exposure of the sport of tennis in all areas of our community and are committed to working with other organizations committed to the growth of tennis in Memphis to accomplish this goal.

The scope of what Tennis Memphis does extends well beyond managing the city’s tennis centers. As a member of the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network of nearly 600 nonprofit organizations, Tennis Memphis is deeply committed to making tennis available to all children in Memphis with free and low-cost year-round programming throughout the community. The National Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Network is an organization co-founded by Arthur Ashe, Charlie Pasarell, and Sheridan Snyder in 1969. Their vision was to utilize tennis as a vehicle to engage children and teach them about life as well as sports. The NJTL Network is supported by the USTA Foundation.

Tennis Memphis is a 4 star NJTL chapter. Our mission, “to build a better community and enhance lives through tennis and education,” is inspired by the mission of the NJTL. We work closely with our partners in the Memphis community to reach children who wouldn’t otherwise have the resources or opportunity to pursue tennis as a sport. Through programs such as Tennis and Tutoring (TNT), we also work to ensure that children have access to educational support and mentoring.

Our NJTL youth programs play an integral role in the character development of children who would not otherwise have access to tennis. National Junior Tennis and Learning was founded in 1969 by tennis legend Arthur Ashe and two of his compatriots as a way to make tennis available to traditionally under-served youth, regardless of gender, race, or socioeconomic status.

Our flagship event is the annual NJTL Tennis Summer Camps. These are intensive, fun six week daily tennis camps operated at 6 public tennis centers.
